Tiara grew up in small-town USA. She soon knew she wanted to work with children, after helping her mom with an in-home after-school daycare. She pursued this passion by completing her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota. She was privileged to experience many different schools during her practicum, and had the pleasure to work side-by-side with an EAL specialist during her year of student teaching.
After receiving her teaching license, Tiara decided to pursue her dream of traveling the world. She has since taught in a 1st Grade class in Albania, a 1st Grade IPC classroom in Indonesia, and a combined 2nd and 3rd Grade IB classroom in Montenegro. Tiara was drawn to move to Kazakhstan based on her love of the great outdoors, and desire to travel to, and experience, less well-known travel destinations. She has enjoyed the ability to become more involved in school events while working at KIS, and looks forward to discovering more about inquiry-based learning.
