Dear Community of Kazakhstan International School, ‘Salam Natchou’ from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!

Mark Jolley is a graduate and qualified teacher of Sport and Exercise Sciences from Cardiff Metropolitan and Exeter Universities in the UK. To say Mark is excited to be joining the KIS adventure at this historic period in the history of KIS would be a significant understatement. Mark has extensive experience in developing physical educational programs, so helping KIS grow into a globally recognised international school is a dream come true for him, and he brings all his heart, effort and goodwill to this task.

Mark graduated from two of the most prestigious universities in the UK. However, it has been his global experiences and the opportunities to work with highly talented people from around the globe - including schools in Africa, Asia, Arabia and the UK - that inspires him to be the best practitioner he can be. Mark loves the twofold nature of being a physical education practitioner. On the one hand he is an educator, encouraging students to support each other’s learning, as students explore together, focus and inquire deeply into curriculum content. After school Mark dons the cap of coach: motivating students to go the extra mile, to commit, to support each other and strive as individuals and as teams, in the demanding environment of competitive sport.

In his free time, Mark and his wife Marie (also joining KIS) both love good food, good company, music, culture and nature; hiking, exploring, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, skiing, and learning to ride horses! They look forward to experiencing the rich and welcoming Kazakh culture for themselves, in the famous ‘Apple City’ of Almaty.
