After a career in business and marketing in Paris, Marie relocated to the Sultanate of Oman to run an adventure tourism company. Having developed numerous adventurous and educational ‘Week Without Walls’ excursions in Oman for international schools worldwide, Marie was inspired to take on a new challenge and qualify as a professional school teacher.

Marie moved with her husband to Ethiopia, where she took an International Diploma in English Language Teaching (IDELT) and then furthered her teaching pedigree by obtaining an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE) from Nottingham University, in the UK. She has been teaching French Language, SST (Student Support Services) and GILA (Global Issues, Local Action) at the IB International Community School, Addis Ababa. She has been teaching Middle School and International Baccalaureate French, and believes in the importance of developing strong relationships with students to enable them to thrive in today's challenging educational environments.

During her free time, Marie enjoys the outdoors, travelling, reading, and going to the opera whenever she can! She is excited to discover Kazakhstan, learn a new language, embrace another culture, and accompany Kazakhstan International School at this exciting new period of its adventure.
