Kirsi Tarkka comes from Finland where she has worked in various positions in the field of early childhood education. She has a master's degree focused on Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of Helsinki.

Kirsi has worked as a teacher as well as director of EYC. She has also coordinated various development projects and is especially interested in enhancing play-based, child-centered pedagogy and pedagogical leadership in the Early Years Education.

Kirsi worked at the Finnish National Agency for Education for several years and was involved in the preparation and implementation of the Finnish National Core Curriculum for early childhood education in Finland. Now she's very excited about being able to continue developing the Early Years program at KIS with the wonderful team of teachers.

Kirsi has family in Finland, including three children who are adults. She has fallen in love with Kazakhstan, with the people, the great food and the beautiful nature. In her spare time, she goes hiking in the mountains and exploring the country whenever possible.
