Bonnie is from Virginia, USA and holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has been teaching lower elementary for 18 years. KIS will be her fourth international post. Prior teaching posts were in China, Indonesia and Egypt (in addition to eleven years teaching in the USA). Bonnie is passionate about teaching younger children and enjoys teaching through music, movement and hands-on exploration. She loves being there while a child is learning to read.

Bonnie grew up in a small farming community in Nevada that had a population of less than 3,000 people. She never imagined that she would be able to travel, let alone live abroad and meet such incredible people. International teaching has been a dream come true for her.

Bonnie will be coming to Almaty with her dog named TinkerBell. She has three grown daughters who live in the USA. She loves traveling, reading, singing and decorative planning. She believes in the importance of meditating and of keeping a gratitude journal. She is a huge Harry Potter fan, and has visited every Disney park in the world. Bonnie is looking forward to working at KIS and living in beautiful Almaty. She is excited to experience the culture, try the food and especially to meet the people!
