Smart Classroom introduced in Kazakhstan International School

The concept of the ''Smart Classroom'' is a holistic classroom teaching and learning facility with high-end multimedia digital technologies. The smart classrooms at Kazakhstan International School provide the Visual-Audio learning capability with ''electronic'' touch-screen interactive boards for teachers and students. Teachers of every classroom can impart their knowledge to students using audio and video based exercises from their own computers and instantly access to internet to share relevant information from the world wide web.

A summary of our ''Smart Classroom'' components include:

• LCD projectors to ensure clear visibility of the lessons;
• Sub-woofer Speakers and Microphones enhance audio learning for the students;
• Touch-screen interactive boards enable versatile teaching and innovative presentations by teachers and students;
• High Speed Internet connection;
• 'Core2Duo' Processor Computers equipped with laser printer and scanner ease teacher's lesson preparation and make teaching and learning personalized and fun.

In conjunction with the installation of smart classrooms, Kazakhstan International School has also purchased 14 sets of customized courseware for grades 2-12 to suit our international students' specific learning requirements. Our current courseware covers the subject of Science, Mathematics, English language, Russian and Kazakh languages. At every grade level science can not only be taught but demonstrated using ''science kits'' that allow teachers and students to experience what they are learning.

Finally, KIS has installed two (2) computer/language laboratories where the interactive capacity of the smart classroom is expanded by the ability of the teacher to provide information directly to student's computers and to monitor individual progress at each computer station from the teacher's computer. In a 21st century world, using interactive computer-based technology to enhance classroom instruction is now a reality at Kazakhstan International School.
