Dear KIS Family and Friends,
Another school year has finally come to an end. There were times when it seemed that this day would never get here and times when it seemed to come too fast.
We have all been through some interesting times this year, some sad and others joyous. Watching our children grow and develop has been such a wondrous experience. Their enthusiasm and joie de vivre inspired all of us to try and do better each day-some days we were successful and other days, not so much. But in the end, we all learned many valuable lessons, and applying these experiences make us better at what we love to do, which is to empower our students to be strong, independent lifelong learners.
There are so many of you to thank for your continued support during good and challenging times. Our incredible PTA co-chairs, Catherine and Tara, it is impossible to thank you enough for all of the wonderful events you planned. Abnaz, you have been such a wonderful support, your cheery smile each day has helped wash away many blue days. Anita, your honest feedback and support has only made us better. Eli, the same, your feedback has made such a difference for all of us, thank you. Bruce, thank you for helping us. Dana, your expertise was very welcome, thank you for sharing with us. Andre and Donald, your frank suggestions and constructive criticisms were spot on and very much appreciated. Heather, far too many things to thank you for, but thanks all the same. If I have forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies, the fault is mine alone.
To all of you who stood by us through thick and thin, to those of you who gave us your thoughts and opinions, to those of you who participated to make all of our KIS functions such a fantastic success, THANK YOU!!
I also want to thank all of our teachers and staff. They have been through a very difficult year and have remained steadfastly committed to providing all of our students the education they so richly deserve. They have shown themselves to be dedicated educators and support staff, and we have been very lucky to have them in our school. Thank you all for your service and commitment.
We are all very excited about next school year. We will be joined by a Special Education teacher, a designated Reading teacher, and native English-speaking teachers in all of our classrooms. All teachers joining us next year are well qualified, experienced teachers who are committed to our vision for all of our students.
The future begins today-I look forward to seeing most of you back here September 1st. For those of you leaving us for other schools or countries, thank you for enriching our school and we wish you all the best on your new adventure.
Mrs. Kay
